NC Family Child Care Mobile App Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to NC Family Child Care Mobile App ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

The App is released on both iOS and Android. Features and data practices are largely identical; where behaviour diverges we mark it with [IOS ONLY] or [ANDROID ONLY].

Sections marked [UPDATED 28-Jun-2025] reflect changes requested during Apple App Store review.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account or sign‑in with a third‑party provider we collect:

Email address – required on both platforms.

First and last name – required for email/Google sign‑ups; optional when you choose Sign in with Apple [IOS ONLY].

Phone number – optional on iOS; required on Android for callback requests [UPDATED 28-Jun-2025]

We do not collect government IDs or payment information inside the App.

1.2 Location Information

With your explicit permission, we access your current location on demand to provide driving directions and nearby service recommendations. We do not track your location in the background.

1.3 Usage & Log Data

We automatically collect limited technical information—device type, OS version, crash logs—plus anonymised in‑App analytics events (screen views, external clicks) via Firebase Analytics to diagnose issues and improve performance.

System backups containing account data may persist for up to 90 days before automatic purge. Location data used for navigation is stored only as needed, then deleted or anonymised.

We apply industry‑standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards—including encryption in transit and at rest—to protect your information. No internet transmission or storage system is 100 % secure.

8. How to Delete Your Account

  1. Log in using any linked credential (Apple, Google, or email).
  2. Go to User Menu → Edit Account → Close Account.

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
