Southwestern Child Development Commission's (SWCDC) NC CCR&R Statewide Family Child Care (FCC) Project has been working on an impact report combining the work of two grants funded through DCDEE. Please note that these funds were targeted specifically for increasing and sustaining licensed FCC:
-
FCC Technical Assistance Contract - funding ends 6-30-2025
-
In-Home FCC Contract (*funded by NC legislation as a one-year study to support start-up of licensed FCC) - funding ends 7-14-2025
*Duke Center for Child & Family Policy was subcontracted to conduct research and complete a report that is due to NC legislators by June 30, 2025.
On behalf of the NC CCR&R Council, we are extremely proud of the work that has been accomplished in a very short period of time. SWCDC has committed other funds to support the continuation of three key FCC CCR&R statewide positions for FY25-26: Project Manager, Business Anchor and Technical Assistance Anchor. Unfortunately, we will not be able to retain our FCC Professional Development Anchor or our team of Regional FCC Consultants that have worked tirelessly across the state to support FCC in their local communities.
SWCDC is seeking additional funding to retain and strengthen what has been built so that momentum is not lost as we work to support the incredible number of referrals that we have received since mid-April from individuals interested in learning more about licensed FCC in NC. If you know of any funding/grant options that we can explore or would like to partner with us and the CCR&R system to continue this work, please reach out! We remain committed to our NC FCC Educators!
